Transit & highway

Price a transit line or a highway from published Canadian cost rates

Tell the estimator how much guideway, how many stops, how many stations, how many lane-kilometres. It returns a line for each, every line carrying the guide, the edition and the page it came from — and a total that is the sum of those lines and nothing else.

Start an infrastructure estimate

Coverage follows the guide: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario (GTA Region), Ontario (Ottawa Region). Ask for a region the guide does not print and the estimator refuses and charges nothing.

How it is built

Edition-anchored

Every rate is tied to a specific published edition and the page it is printed on, so the figure you receive can be checked against the book.

Cited, never blended

Two publishers covering the same item are shown side by side. We never average them, never split a printed range into tiers the guide does not print, and never substitute a figure from another country or another city.

A sum of cited lines

Each line is a rate printed by a named guide for this region, multiplied by a quantity you supplied on the guide's own basis — per kilometre, per lane kilometre, per stop or station, per square foot. The total is the sum of these lines and nothing else.

These are direct construction costs. The guide prints them excluding bridges and interchanges, utility works, site development, land, soft costs and financing, so those are not in the total above.

What it costs

An infrastructure estimate consumes 5 CostEstimate credits. Credits you buy never expire. If the guide does not cover what you asked for, the estimator refuses before it charges — you are never billed for an empty answer.
